This photo actually brings out the sociologist in me because it’s interesting to see how we can live such different lives despite living right next door. That’s maybe a stretch, but that’s how my mind works.
Since a friend just emailed me asking about this photo, I figured I should clarify what it is. The property on the left is owner occupied and the lawn is being taken care of. The property on the right has gone through foreclosure and the lawn is not being cared for at all. Have you seen this before? I see it ALL the time. The contrast is striking to me and it makes for good conversation about the impact of foreclosure on a neighborhood.
