I’ve had a green screen in my office over the past year, and it’s been a fun addition to my video production arsenal. I’ve been using a green screen for both business and non-profit ventures, and you can see some of my videos on my YouTube channel if you wish (like this one). Right now I have an actual cloth green screen hanging up that is about 5′ x 7′, but since I want something a bit larger and more permanent, I’ll be painting one wall the color below (yes, that’s Disney paint). If all goes well, I’ll gain some significant ground on this project over the weekend. I’m actually still looking for the perfect medium to paint on though. My office wall has a bit of bumpy texture, and I don’t want the surface to get in the way of video quality, so I’ll be painting on either new wood or several pieces of new sheetrock. I’m open to tips if you have some.
What do you have in your office that might surprise the average person?

Very cool. I hope you post some before, during, and after pics of the project. I would love to see them!
Ryan Lundquist says
Thanks, Bryan. I’ll have a live feed so you can watch every moment. Just kidding. Good idea. I’ll make sure to snap some photos or maybe take a video. I sure hope I can carve out time this weekend to make it happen.

My husband says that MFD board is good for painting on. Sort of like drywall.
Ryan Lundquist says
Excellent. Thanks for the tip, Sonja.

That’s very cool Ryan. Let us know how it is going. If I lived in California I would come over and help!
Ryan Lundquist says
Tom, I need to get a “like” button installed for comments. Thanks. I appreciate it.

Hey Ryan,
This is great idea. My green screen seems to always have some ripples in it that distort the video. I’m fed up with my cloth green screen and will be doing the same. Thank you for getting me going again! Bill
Ryan Lundquist says
Thanks, B. My cloth screen actually works very well. I just don’t like the look of it and I think my new design might actually work better. Those are famous last words though. We shall see.
Patrick Hake says
Wow,
You are taking this video blogging thing to a “whole…..nuva…level”
I look forward to seeing how the videos turn out after the upgrade.
Ryan Lundquist says
Thanks so much, Patrick. I appreciate it. I always look forward to the Hake market update videos too. Take care.

Thanks Ryan! That is one of the sample mouses I have 🙂
The Disney Paint in the photo above is “DC4B-40-5” “Sonic Boom” also 4B-40. It’s Disney by Behr.
Another post from several years ago stated that Disney “Gamma Sector Green” was good. However, I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s the same paint.
I’ll let you know how it all turns out!
Cheers

Thank you so much, Annie. It’s really helpful to know the paint color. Good luck on your screen. I can’t wait to hear how it turns out. Take care.
